their clients by filling the need of individuals who are given

carry this out on their own thus bridging the gap between the health
care professional and the patients they treat and release.

Chek Practitioner Certification
A CHEK Exercise Coach & Practitioner possesses the skills and knowledge to design and implement personalized exercise programs that incorporate traditional exercise with mind-body exercises. A key component that defines a CHEK Exercise Coach is the series of assessments used to identify postural, core and autonomic nervous system dysfunctions. The CHEK Exercise Coach can accurately assess even the most complex client and design a scientifically sound program for exceptional results. CHEK Exercise Coaches stress excellent exercise technique and know that to produce the desired result, exercises must be performed correctly. They understand how energy-balancing exercises reduce total body stress and know when to use these types of exercises with different clients. At the CHEK Institute, based in San Diego, founder Paul Chek is setting high standards that must be met by each and every person before they call themselves Chek Exercise Coaches and Practitioners. The CHEK certification program requires, among other things, that a participant hold a certification or degree in an approved field prior to entering the program. Most importantly, CHEK Exercise Coaches have passed rigorous written and practical exams showing an in-depth understanding of advanced level functional anatomy and kinesiology. CHEK Exercise Coaches take a holistic approach, treating the body as a whole. If you, or someone you know, is in need of corrective or restorative exercise, living with back pain or looking for a high-performance training program, don’t hesitate to contact your local CHEK Exercise Coach.
C.H.E.K Practitioners learn how to identify red flags as a necessary system of preventing injury through exercise. They learn spinal biomechanics, neurological screening, essential orthopedic screening tests, length/tension assessments, corrective stretching, specific corrective exercise technologies, and how to refer to allied medical practitioners. Advanced level postural assessment using goniometric technology gives the C.H.E.K Practitioner the ability to design highly specific corrective exercise programs. The C.H.E.K Practitioner is an invaluable addition to any medical practice treating work, sports, and recreational orthopedic injuries. They are also key contributors to the professional sports medicine and conditioning teams.

*It is important to note that the role of a practitioner of fitness therapy and of a Corrective Exercise Specialist is to provide safe and appropriate exercise that will not aggravate clients existing chronic/disease condition but will work to lower the clients physiological load, improve posture, structural balance and stability to enhance the natural healing of the client. It is not the duty of the Exercise Specialist to diagnose conditions or prescribe therapy. It is however, the responsibility of the Specialist to make sure the exercises performed will not exacerbate the condition and will compliment the therapies assigned by the therapist, physician or chiropractor.*
**We coach the person who has the dis-ease. We don't treat the disease that has the person.**
At Cross-Trainers HHP, It is not our role or within our scope of practice to treat disease or imbalance. We are, however, in the practice of coaching holistic health, balance, stability and function. We believe that energy follows intent and attention, and therefore, if our focus is the disease that has the person rather than the person that has the dis-ease we bring energy to the imbalance rather than to the person trying to heal. Our intention is to empower our clients and not their dis-ease. After all, what we resist, will persist, what we emphasize and embrace will prevail!!
The beautiful setting and peaceful environment of the Holistic Health Playground is ideal for the promotion of self-healing and we look forward to sharing this space with you.
